Troubleshooting Common Issues

CMS Plus works differently from most components because it’s purely functional. Its filters have no on-canvas UI and are configured through properties, which may take some getting used to. The info below can help with any issues you run into.

Not working.

  • Keep CMS Plus updated. Via the Assets panel, under CMS Plus folder, update every component. Framer tutorial.

My filter isn't working.

  • Check the Collection+ ID number. This number should be the same as the filter ID you're wanting to use.

  • Use the matching type. For example, if your CMS field is an option type, use the Filter+ Option.

  • When your button/toggle is clicked, ensure that variant has Filter set to Apply.

The list always displays as no results.

  • CMS Plus filters of different types are combined using AND logic—so all conditions must be met. But when you use multiple filters of the same type, they’re treated with OR logic—meaning that matching any of them is enough. Double-check you setup to ensure your creating a search that will return a result. Try it with one filter and build from there.

  • Framer preserves settings even when switching between Preview and Canvas views. At the time of this writing, the only way to start fresh is reloading or force reload Framer.

Filter is not preserving.

  • The filter must be in a component.

  • While in a component, you now have access to Interactions. Filters allow linking a variant when the filter is active and another variant when it's inactive. Both need to be set.

  • Preserve needs to be set to Yes.

  • Filters are preserved as long as the visitor stays on the site, if the tab is closed or their navigated away, then the filters reset to default.

My template only came with a few filters.
